The OP for anyone who can make heads or tails of it....averagenorm wrote: »
H all,
I have been building up a credit history from not having any, for a couple of years now, I have 3 cards, car finance and one small loan with 2 payments left total debt 9k all in good standing
I only had a foundation account with Nat West as at the time of opening it (2years) was all I could get so......
I was told that only having a basic account would be affecting my credit score (??) as despite doing everything right my score rarely raises.
The bank upgrade me to a regular current account and mention a loan to clear cards etc which would be good for me as cards are not the best apr, but after doing the checks the advisor tells me that im failing on affordability and the loan with 2 payments left is just tipping me over and once clear the bank will help.
Anyway cutting to the chase, the loan has 1 payment left now that can be paid at any time, I find myself with a few looming large bills and would like to ask the bank to reassess now. Can that be done? and how should I word this request?
Thanks for advice0
