Request an escalation with bank??

Before even thinking about a loan you need to make a statement of your income and outgoings (on the Debtfree Wannabe board), and see what cuts can be done to better manage your debt. You say you have some large bills coming up, are you able to afford these without credit?
You've not been building a credit history, you've been building debt. You need to take control before this spirals further.0 -
Well, obviously it is reported I'm afraid as the foundation account has always shown up on my credit report and has always been reported as being up to date. I am led to believe that some basic bank accounts get reported some don't, clearly, this one does, hence its appearance.
I have to say my experience of this "forum" if you like, appears to be nothing more than a platform for bedroom money snob enthusiasts to peruse, and attempt to belittle, prejudge and offer condescending so-called advice to posters- examples " It doesn't sound as if more credit is what you need. Certainly not for 'bills'.- facetious, irrelevant to question posed, condescending. " What credit score? There's no such thing as a universal credit score. Do you mean the internal rating that NatWest use?- condescending, unnecessary " The type of current account you have isn't reported to any of the credit reference agencies so I can't see how it could make any difference as to how other banks and building societies view you". factually incorrect. " In fact, do you know what, it doesn't really matter. Take zx81's advice, stop trying to borrow your way out of debt and head over to the Debt Free Wannabe board. - condescending, irrelevant. Now I appreciate that I will be banned and deleted for speaking the truth about my experience of asking a question here, but maybe you 10,00 plus posters who enjoy your time offering no help to posters should have a day off and go outside. I, of course, exclude SnowTiger and I am wales who actually offered constructive helpful advice so thank you very . Good luck all:T0 -

You are of course correct - but then most of the long term posters on here are not up to their necks in debt and trying to borrow more to repay existing commitments.
I have learnt a lot from here and over the years helped many.0 -

It's not my fault that your posts are as clear as mud requiring further clarification or that you are incapable of reading and understand the advice being given.0 -

averagenorm wrote: »Thanks jones, I wouldn't say im up to my eyeballs in debt sir, I simply asked a question on a forum and of course again have been pre-judged, still appreciate you agreeing with me.
Define your definition of ''up to my eyeballs in debt''?
Are you £9k in debt and have no funds to pay ''your looming large bills''?
To me that would be frightening.0 -

I have to be honest.
Despite having worked in finance for thirty years, I didn't really have a clue what you were going on about.
So I'm unable to advise.0 -

You have £9000 in borrowing and you are trying to get Natwest to lend you money to pay some bills coming up next month. That is the very definition of being up to ones eyeballs in debt. Your finances are so precarious that they cannot withstand a couple of bills coming in which is one of the reasons that the EU mandatory affordability tests which you've failed are a good thing to prevent people from digging the hole they're in deeper. It is also the reason the Debt Free Wannabe board exists, to help you get out of the hole you're currently in and trying to dig deeper so that you don't need to get loans out to pay bills, regardless of how big they are. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
