Bump In November - Received Final Notice from other party's Insurer
On the 2nd November I had a bump in my car. My fault, I went into someone who was waiting at a roundabout. I was on my way to take my daughter to a hospital appointment.
I called my insurer from the hospital car park but because of how long it took me to get through I had to take her for her appointment.
Tried regularly over the next week to get through but couldn't. Eventually on the 9th I sent an e-mail to my insurer (Axa) with my policy number explaining I'd had a bump and admitting liability.
I received an automated reply acknowledging receipt of my e-mail.
And then, to be honest, I forgot about it. Hardly any damage to my car, which has since been scrapped, and it didn't affect how it drove, so I didn't repair it.
I've just received a letter from the other party's insurers saying that they have tried contacting my insurers but they haven't received payment, so they are now seeking payment from me.
Any advice? I'm currently on hold to my insurer (16 minutes and counting so far) hoping to sort this out. I admitted liability so I don't see why my insurers wouldn't pay up.

"Facism arrives as your friend. It will restore your honour, make you feel proud, protect your house, give you a job, clean up the neighbourhood, remind you of how great you once were, clear out the venal and the corrupt, remove anything you feel is unlike you... [it] doesn't walk in saying, "our programme means militias, mass imprisonments, transportations, war and persecution."

But I suspect, going by the trouble you're having talking to them, that they are just very disorganised. As Neil says, forward everything to them, that's what you pay them for.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0 -
So you haven't actually spoken to your insurer about it yet? I think you need to try harder to contact them.0

How would you suggest that the OP tries harder than picking up the phone, calling the number and waiting (in one post he is actually on the phone and waiting for 16 minutes) for them to answer, plus he has sent an e-mail?
Wait longer?
Ring at different times?
If someone was just about to try to claim several thousand minimum off me and i had insurance for such eventualities i would be trying VERY hard0 -
I'd try the new quote line. Suspect you would at least get to speak to someone. They may have an alternative number, or be able to put you through.0

It may sound quaint, but he could try writing a letter.0

I then asked to be transferred to the claims department and I was speaking to them a few seconds later.0 -
The OP has received a letter that has to be forwarded to their insurance company, one assumes an accompanying letter telling them everything that can't be said by phone (because they won't answer) is all that is needed.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0
