Accidental Overpayment.

in Credit cards
Hi everyone. I've accidentally overpaid my credit card through online banking, not DD, looks like an extra 0 on the end. Santander wont play ball and offer any refund. Is this reasonable or is there some other way I should be addressing the issue? TIA

Has the amount put your credit card into a positive balance? Or has it just cleared some more of the debt you owed on?
If it's the former, they would just ask for your bank details and send any amount which is over the credit limit back to your bank account.
If it's the latter, I don't think they would be able to refund the money and it's tough luck unofrtunately and be more careful next time.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. I've never had a card issuer refuse to refund a credit balance. Do you actually have a credit balance or did you simply pay more than you intended towards an outstanding balance?0
