Good evening. Just a quick post as I should be doing the dishwasher and making lunches for tomorrow.
Yesterday was a NSD. Today was £56 at Mr T. Tomorrow should be NSD as I'm at work and DH in bed.
It definitely hasn't been a productive weekend, I never even managed a meal plan but i'm hoping to put it together tomorrow to use up things from the freezer, there's still a bit of meat in there.
I've just signed up for YNAB but think I've done it at the wrong time, should have waited for a new month, i think. I've somehow paid the money left this month onto bills I've already paid leaving the budget lower than it should be. My brains not working tonight so will look again tomorrow.LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

YNAB works at any time, that's its beauty. If you have money left in the bank, that's your available income to allocate. If you don't - well then there's nothing to allocate and you can't spend anything! YNAB's whole thing is don't allocate money you haven't yet received, just look at what you have today and work out what that money has to do.MFW diary here. 1 Feb 2017 $229,371 - MFD Feb 2043  aiming for May 2028

I really can't/couldn't get on with ynab. It went straight over my head
It works amazingly well for loads around the boards though.
Happy Monday have a nice dayx

Thank you armchair expert. I think i know where i went wrong, i've filled the whole month in with this months budget, then added whats in the accounts (instead of adding extra for the payments ready made). When ive tried to pay the bills already paid, it's obviously taken from the money left and took it into -numbers. I will try again with jut what is left to pay this month.
Hidden, i've tried it before and just couldn't do it, I know so many on here swear by it so thought i'd give it another go, but as i round up (except payments are always down, missing the pennies so usually a few pence in front of where i think) it's going to take some getting used to. I'm going to give the trial a go and see.
When we had our laptop i had found a fantastic spreadsheet, but while i'm having to use 1 of the teens, i dont want any 'evidence' left for them to see.
Work this morning and a lovely walk home in the sunshine. First sofa payment has come out, £89 (and a few pence, see what i mean, i'm going to be losing pennies all over the place).
Should have been a NSD but the teens have been swimming while the little ones were in lessons, £4.50.
Right,im off to have another look at YNAB and I am going to have an early night (i've said that all week and still been awake at 1am)LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the people in Manchester last night. I've sat in tears watching the news this morning.
Today I have paid DD3 dinner money up to date, £20 and will need bus fare to doctors as DD2 is still not right so she's at the doctors later, she's not at school again today.
I've spent the morning on YNAB and put in the budget for next month but this month will be putting bills in as they occur as I'm not sure what is still to come out, there is still quiet a bit of money to budget so should be okay. I've reset some savings accounts we have, they were used before the redundancy but just didn't have the money after. So they are now- car, Christmas and birthday and holiday/day out accounts. I know we don't need the holidays but I've got to think of the children too.
£700 a month has been budgeted for debt payments and anything that is left at the end of the month will go to debt payments or house repairs/garden. I am desperate for a nice useable garden! We have been here 16 years and it just needs so much work doing on it. DH would like to bring a digger in for a day in the next few weeks to get some sort of level ground. He did do part of it by hand last year, but his health and lack of time, it's just going to take so long to do.
I have £2.30 ready to pay out from tcb, DH needs to put a cheque in that he's had weeks £60 something (for yellow pages), may be too late now.
After 3 months I finally have my hospital appointment tomorrow so will need parking money. I'm absolutely petrified and googling all sorts, I know I shouldn't but I cant help it.LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

I don't know if I've ever commented before, but I have been reading all your updates and cheering you on from the sidelines.
Just wanted to say, STAY OFF GOOGLE!! I can't help it myself, but basically any symptoms you put in tells you that you're dying! I am sure you will be fine, good luck with it!
What happened in Manchster last night was awful, a few of my daughters friends where there and thankfully all fine, but all too close to home. An absolute tragedy to those who lost their lives, to think they went out for a good night out and never came home, I can't stop thinking about it.
Good luck with your debt, you're making good progress xxStarting debt £18,675.63

Thank you reality_check. I have read through your thread too and wish you luck.
Glad your daughters friends are all ok. just seen the little girl, im watching my 9 year olds miraculous recovery and cant imagine what those parents are feeling.
I know google is my worst enemy just lately, every time i get a new symptom i find myself looking again. After the first appointment and 'a growth on your ear drum' i spent days searching and found was convinced it was worst case. Doctor said i would have my appointment in 2 weeks and then the app arrived for 8th June (from middle of feb), i calmed down, they couldn't be that worried. At least we should have some answers tomorrow.LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

Hi, I've found your thread! Thank you for commenting on mine the other day (I looked for the half price electric toothbrush you tipped me off about and it was out of stock... but they may have another delivery in now).
It's terrible and desperately sad about Manchester. Somehow it comes home more when it's a place you know personally or people you know were there, but all these terrorist acts are so real to someone somewhere. I do pray they find the missing people very soon.
I've had a glance through your thread charlies tribe, you have such a lot going on! At first it's going to be trial and error and as you have family and health to think of as well as money, you will need to be kind to yourself and make allowances. To me it all looks complex and a real juggling act. If you are on f@cebook there is a group called 'Feed yourself for £1 a day' which is very helpful for cheap meals - there is also 'Special diets on a budget' which might help with children who are difficult to feed.
I will have a more detailed read as time allows but in the meantime I wanted to offer kind thoughts and virtual support as you get to your appointment. You are right though - the doctors don't seem to be in a rush so they can't be too concerned.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
