So far today is still a NSD!
Washer is still going. I've decided to try and do an hour in each room each week and hopefully i should soon start seeing improvements. Today was the bathroom! After an hour it is looking a whole lot better and i also found 2p for the pot.

I've just put dinner on for the little ones before gymnastics and swimming and we will have ours later with DD1 as she doesn't finish college until 5.

Just requested a payout from a cashback site, about £40 after charges (it's going into paypal so not sure how much i'll end up with). Not sure what to do with it yet though.

Better go fetch some little ones from school.

  • Good morning. Cant believe it's been a whole week since i last posted. The garden is going well, fencing in and the new hedging planted. Lots of washing done yesterday before the weather changes. Sofa payment has come out this morning.
I've realised i have a major problem with fetching bread/milk and then buying lots of snacks. I'm going to try and do 2 bigger shops this week to try and cut down on the impulse buying.

Sorry I never came back to see your reply.

I was going to say it seems alot of your spends seem to be in the supermarket and trying to cut the shops down. Honestly if I nip into the supermarket for a loaf it can be £20 a time!

  • Thank you Wannabe. Sorry i haven't been back to see your post, I must have missed the notification.

It has been another busy week yet I don't seem to have got much done. Last payment for the month has come out for the credit cards this morning. As it is the last day of the month i have swept £181 over to the home/emergency account. We will see the difference in my next wages so may be the last large amount transferred for a while. I have also paid almost £1200 to the council tax so the yearly bills account is looking a little bit sad today but there is still enough for the car insurance next week.

DH has been having major problems with his back again, he was struggling to walk and to sleep. He is so fed up of living on painkillers and physio just gives him a list of exercises to do that don't seem to work. We have decided to try Osteotherapy. He had his first appointment on Monday and there is a lot of vertebra that wont move or very limited movement. We had a talk and have decided to give it a try for a few weeks at least to see if he notices a difference. His health is a priority. It's going to cost £35 a session, we are going to use the home/emergency fund for now.

After reading other diaries we are going to try and fit in a family meeting about finances/budgets and any behaviour/chores. I'm hoping it might stop all the 'can we have' when out shopping if they know exactly what we have.

I need to start making plans for the children's birthdays this month. I have twin nieces and a nephew, 3 of our children and DH all in June and DD1 will be 17 and would like driving lessons for her present, How expensive are they now! Think mine were £10 an hour. Then we have DD3 at beginning of July too and she would like a party.

It's a very busy afternoon, DH has an osteo app, girls have swimming and Gymnastics.

Good evening. I seem to be struggling to find time to post and read diaries at the moment. I just wanted to post to say I've finally phoned up about the mortgage and we have (Hopefully) switched to a new 4 year fixed rate saving £61 of interest a month.
Need to tackle the car insurance next as it's due next week.

Thank you Chrystal. I was petrified the whole time that they would say no. Reading out our debt figures to a complete stranger was embarrassing.

£61 a month is brilliant! It's like having another day's pay(ish) for free.
