Transferring euros abroad

Hi All,
I have got some euros in cash, that I need to transfer abroad (in euros).
I have gone to my bank and asked how best to do it, but the only way was to convert euros into pounds by putting them into my account and then convert pounds back to euros during transfer. The trouble is, I am losing few hundred euros by doing double conversion.
Could someone please recommend a way to transfer the money more efficiently?
Many thanks!
