Roof Tile Identification

Visited some local reclamation sites but unfortunately for me couldn't find any. Also we getting double side extension done so its the issue of matching the tiles which will be problematic so the builder said its a good idea to get new roof tiles and try to sell/exchange the old tiles to try to recoup some money back.
So which roof tile is the best overall?:
- Concrete
- Clay
- Slate
- Envirotile
- Decra
- Metrolite
Also does it depend on the pitch angle of the roof that will determine which roof tile to go for?
The builders took all the old tiles off and they are in the garden. Where to go to get the best price/rate for our old tiles?0 -
Your tiles look like there upside down to me?
Welsh slate is probably the most durable, might last 200 years plus but you probably don't need the roof to last that long!0 -
Concrete tiles are best.
Have you checked on gumtree and ebay for people selling used tiles?
Not everyone posts good photos but on some of them you can see if they match or notChanging the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
Ok what's the quickest way that pays the most for my old tiles taken off the roof? Or are they worthless destined for the skip?0

Put an add on gumtree.
If there is a local reclamation yard take one tile and see if they will buy them.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
Ok so decided to get the whole roof replaced instead as finding the old tiles might be a problem like you said.
Or maybe you have money to burn...0 -

I mean best overall.
Its ok we putting new tiles on the roof as the old ones are hard to find.
Just need to get rid of the old ones at some price to recoup the losses from purchasing new ones. How much you reckon the old ones are worth?0 -
did you find the right tile? it is also possible to replicate the originals.
There are several companys who can arrange this.
Google, bespoke roof tiles Kroon Keramiek for instance.0
