learning to drive a van?

Options
Going to get those reverse beeper things. I have never driven a van so worried, especially reverse parking- shall I practise?

Apparently it comes with an immobilser for security and alarm. What's an immobiliser by the way?

If it thinks you're a crap driver it immobilises the van and takes your licence off you. :D

Kidding - if someone attempts to steal it, it wont start without the correct keys.

This guy has got to be a wind up?

Wait for a thread soon: "Learning to clean windows"...
  • It's just like a big car but without a rear window to see out of. Just be aware of the size of it, and you'll get used to it quickly enough.

Don`t park nose in, it can be very hard to see to safely get out again.

The reverse beepers things do work, right? I am so worried about smashing side of van into something. Is it best to get one from Halfords or professionally fitted?

Got an old banger car as well, and wondering whether to keep it. It's another £300 on insurance. May have to have both vehicles for a few days on insurance while I establish how much it will be to fix it and get it through insurance.

Yeah, reversing sideways is hard work, so sensors will help.
