learning to drive a van?

Vans take some getting used to if you've only ever driven cars. Main thing you'll learn after taking your first junction is approach it dead straight and not on a slight angle like a car or else you can't see both ways up and down the road as the side of the van is in the way! Also take a tight left turn from a junction wide or you'll mount the pavement with your back wheel ;-)

Go for the amateur fitting with Halfrauds and tell them you want the side parking sensors too (beepy things). Can't be too careful IMHO :money:"We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -
Vans are actually easier than a lot of cars. You have big door mirrors, in which you can easily see the rear corners. The front corners are exactly where you think they are.
The biggest shift is one of mindset - especially moving from relying on the interior mirror and over-the-shoulder vision to using the door mirrors. Once you do that, you're laughing - and you'll probably find yourself using the car's door mirrors much more, too.
A van of the size we're talking in all these threads won't be a problem, but if ever you're in a van or truck where you're ahead of the front axle line... that can be fun manouvering in reverse...0 -

Got an old banger car as well, and wondering whether to keep it. It's another £300 on insurance. May have to have both vehicles for a few days on insurance while I establish how much it will be to fix it and get it through insurance.
Yes,I think you should get professional help.0
