Hi there I have moved into a different flat and my landlady kindly signed me up to UWH gas , electric and broadband .
After waiting two weeks for connection it didn't work and I have waited another week for BT to come out and sort out the line.
The premium router they have given me only reaches 2 of the 5 rooms (all on one level) .
I bought a Wi-Fi range extender but that doesn't reach well enough to serve the laptops only the phones.
Any ideas ?
In desperation I have tried to plug my old sky hub in but that isn't playing ball.
I dread to think what their standard router is like !
What are my options, does anyone know ?
I am actually off to bed now as I have to get up early for work but I will check back tomorrow afternoon for replies .
Hoping someone has the knowledge I need before I get on the phone to them

Wifi routers are much of a muchness. First of all ensure its placed bang in the middle of all 5 rooms and not under the telly in the extreme corner of the entire flat!0

Thank you all I have rung them but need to call back when I have time to go through the settings with them.
It is in the far corner of the flat as that's where the socket is , what is the best way to extend it ?0 -
I have found these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TP-LINK-TL-WPA4220KIT-AV500-Powerline-300M-Wi-Fi-Extender-Signal-Booster-Hotspot-/390866291268?hash=item5b01724a44:g:8kgAAOSwiLdWCr5e
to be very effective. It uses your house/flat mains wiring to distribute the signal. You may find that just one WiFi unit at the far end of your flat will be sufficient, but if not, then you can buy extra WiFi units that just plug into the mains socket in any room.
They also give you the ability to hard wire devices (using ethernet cable) such as smart TVs and other devices that may not have wifi0 -
Thank you - funnily enough that's what the guy on the phone is trying to get me to buy !0
