Didn't know it was from China!

Options
- bought a dress from a website I assumed was American (items listed in $) for equivalent of £60.
- dress came, it doesn't fit. Address on package is a UK distribution centre.
- checked website, it says to email for a returns label.
- received email saying I have to return it to China within 30 days at my own cost. It's around £30 to return.
- checked the website again, doesn't say anywhere it's from China.

What are my rights here?

Returning to America would be a similar cost, so it's not a lot different to what you thought?

The websites English is better than most Chinese sites, but there are a lot of tell tale grammar mistakes.

    Also:

This website is operating under Changzhou Sixiangtianhui Info-Tech Co., Ltd Address: 1669 Hollenbeck Ave. #2-238 Sunnyvale CA 94087 (Please note: This address do not accept returns.)

That would have made me suspicious. However, you were expecting an international return anyway?

I don't think I properly thought it through that far! Only that it was listed in $. There were no extra shipping charges or import taxes that I'd expect from overseas. Impulse purchase It wasn't my clearest-thinking moment!

Do you know the legalities/consumer rights on a purchase made when it hasn't made it clear that a return would be to a foreign country?

If the prices where in dollars most people would reasonably expect that the purchase was from overseas, so would expect any returns to also be to another country.

It was in their 'about us'

Buying in dollars makes it fairly clear it would not be a domestic return.

Your rights depend on the laws of China/US. Even UK stores can require you to pay for returns on non faulty items, so I imagine Chinese and US laws are the same.

The website has it listed in dollars for half the page and pounds the other half. I assumed (correctly) it has a UK distribution centre. So I don't understand how if it's a domestic delivery, it's an international return?

It doesn't matter. They do not have to offer a UK returns centre.

The GBP pricing is based on location. Anything which is a graphic shows dollars.

even if you returned it I doubt you would ever see a refund.

No phone number and no address anywhere on the website,

for £30 prob best to put it down to experience and then warn everyone you know about chinese scam sites
