Need help- suspension and displinary

Hi th following is all true and I need an answer asap

So on Monday I attended a meeting of investigation were my company a claim that I was making YouTube videos and making derogatory comments and bringing the company into disrepute then later that evening I git a letter to attend a dusplinary hearing

The thing is I don't want to attend as I suffer from panic attacks and anxiety and depression and past few days I have lost sleep because of this and eaten anything
Plus I have emailed my boss twice saying I resign with immediate effect but no response

So are they or can they honour my request and what happens if I do t show up

If you don't show up they can continue the meeting in your absence, they can also do this if you resign. I take it what they are alleging is true?

You can take a colleague or trade union rep to the meeting if that would help. If you qualify for reasonable adjustments you may be able to take someone from outside work for support.

How long have you worked there?

And why would you do such a silly thing?
  • I worked there since February but am or can I be forced to attend and am scared straight as I don't know what will happen if I don't attend as ultimate I want to be let go or have my contract terminated

They said failure to attend will result in dispensary action and includes and up to dismissal and a, scared if I do t show up so please help me

Get someone to go with you. When you have worked there for such a short time you have no protection, they can just fire you.

If you have been doing what they said, and you have not said you have not, then you need to go and defend yourself.

Under 2 years service they can get rid of you anyway and if as asked the facts are true then turning up or not will not change the outcome.I would start looking for a new job .

    What's your union rep said?

  • U can argue it's my fault however all I said was on the YouTube video was how I almost got fired and I got told off and how companies have or keep giving their staff cakes etc but I said no or release any private info from client or company and they claim I made a video that is circulating the work place

All I want is for them is to dismiss me or get rid of me rather than torture me through this process
I have had no sleep and not ate anything during this investigation and I have told everyone or phoned up agas and breathing space and citizens advuce and Samaritan but I need help
I do not want to show up and want them to terminate my contract so what action if any if I do t show up
Ultimately if I don't show up will they just dismiss me and end it right there right now
I have emailed twice but got no answer saying I resigned with immediate effect so wil this go well or will this make matters worse

You can refuse to attend on medical grounds, if they're very conscientious they might offer to reschedule and get medical advice, but it sounds like this will be just drawing out the process. More likely is that they will hold the meeting in your absence, which is perfectly legal.

They do not have to accept your resignation with immediate effect. Your notice period is one week, or whatever it says in your contract, whichever is more. They can't refuse that, but they can still hold the meeting during your notice period, even if you don't show up.

It's probably in your interests to attend, and if possible with someone with you.

Obviously I don't know all the ins and outs, but as you've been there 2 months and they believe that you have brought the company into disrepute I think dismissal is a likely outcome. Since that's what you want I don't mind saying it...

First thing, though, get proper medical help.

If it's what you really want then write to them and inform them that you don't wish to attend. They can't force you to go to a meeting you don't want to. But they can hold the meeting and ultimately dismiss you in your absence.

And learn the lesson - they are correct and you did what they say. You NEVER discuss your employer on any form of social media. You especially never say anything at all critical of them. Employers do not appreciate their employees saying negative things about them and then posting them to the world.
