    Huskydays - the step is the same height but the step into the door has increased due to the higher threshold. A low profile threshold would have been better.
    Ah, I was looking at the step but I still don't see it :o Tbf, I'm not much of a door connoisseur, as long as mine closes and locks I'm happy!

    so what colour is better? I can maybe understand about fading that darker colours may fade more and may look faded but how will warping and distorting affected by colour

    Darker doors absorb more heat from direct sunlight so have a tendency to warp in the morning and settle back down in the evening.
