How much longer - fibre broad band

We live in a semi rural location where the telephone exchange is a long way away and consequently have a slow internet connection which goes off with the slightest excuse. A while ago a new green cabinet appeared, fibre is on it's way! I have been looking on the open reach site for a while and it now gone from 'Connecting' to 'Super fast, excepting orders', except I still can't have it. How much longer does it take from now until providers can actually sell the service now it's in and apparently ready to go?
Nothing to see here, move along.

Why can't you order? Who you trying to order with?
What does http://dslchecker.bt.com show for your address when usung the address checker?0 -
That just returns the service I already have, up to 3.5Mbps (Ha ha I wish).Nothing to see here, move along.0

Does the Openreach site say anything about the fact that your line may be too long when you use the where and when checker?0

Your cabinet is enabled for Superfast fibre however you're not able to order fibre just yet.
This might be because the length of the line is too long to get Superfast speeds. We're actively looking at other options.
I get that if I put in the address of the place right next to the cabinet so I'm guessing it just a generic, it's not ready yet message.Nothing to see here, move along.0 -
When we were upgraded to FTTC last year, it took about three months from the time the new cabinet appeared to when they were accepting orders.
Don't know if this is typical.
I would certainly suggest that an address next to the cabinet should be able to get it as soon as the cabinet goes live.
How far are you from the cabinet?0 -
Less than 200 meters to the cab from here, it's been about 12 months since they started but that was the digging up the road stage, the phone lines got switched over at the beginning of March, I know this because they cross connected our phone with someone else.Nothing to see here, move along.0

Give it a week or two.
If the checker still shows the same then get in touch with Openreach through their website, or on twitter.
If it's a public funded BDUK cabinet, then you could try contacting the local BDUK scheme for the area.0 -
Thanks, I have signed up for email notification from BT when it's available, just got an itchy trigger finger to get some decent internet speed.Nothing to see here, move along.0

I'd keep checking the DSL checker I posted above daily, along with the Openreach one. They update instantly, whereas the BT email system has been known to take a few days to catch up!0

and the answer is just over a week
It went to excepting orders yesterday!
