Supercard???

Some time ago MSE pushed the Supercard by Travelex "trial" (at that time). It went through trials and then was modified somewhat.. Does anyone have any experience out there more recently concerning it?
Originally one was able to withdraw cash from ATM's for free but there now seems to be a charge. Are there any benefits now over and above just using ones UK cards?

For purchases you can use it with your regular UK cards to avoid the fees they would normally charge. But for cash withdrawals there is a 3% charge, so it's no use for that.

I link it to an old cashback MasterCard. That way I earn 1% on overseas purchases that convert at a "perfect" rate.

I use my Halifax Clarity card for cash withdrawals and also as a purchases back up - the Supercard isn't reliable, failing on about 15% of transactions.

Yes I have had some experience of it letting me down, it would be a nightmare if one had to rely on it solely, trains, tolls have been difficult on several occasions. I am out of UK as much as in so if it was as good as it looked like it should be it would have been fantastic.
