Thunderbird Duplicate Sent Messages

For some reason every time I send an email using Thunderbird 2 copies appear in my Sent folder.
Any idea why & how to stop it ??

Tools -> Accounts settings -> select your account -> Copies and folders;
Untick "Place a copy in"
Restart TB and test;0 -
Double clicking the send button?
Have you asked the recipient if they are receiving 2 copies?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Are you using Gmail? Gmail tries to be clever and places a copy of all sent emails in your sent folder. Then TB places a copy in there too. Just disable it as mentioned in the other answers.0
