Should I get a survey on a 2 year old new build?

We have put an offer in on a 2 year old new build which still has 8 years left on the warranty. Even though it's still fairly new is it still worth having a full survey done?

Only if you want to be told nothing worth while for great expense. NHBC will cover you if the worst happens, save yourself a few ££ and just read any other survey for a similar property they are all copy and pasted pretty much.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. I'm not sure that you can assume that a two year old house will be fine. There have been a lot of articles recently regarding poorly built houses with a range of faults.
If this house is on a development it may be worth googling to see if other houses nearby have had issues. Two years is quite early for someone to be selling a new-build and I think I would want to be confident of their reasons for leaving.0 -
I suppose just the lender's valuation survey should be enough. Even we have an offer accepted on a house just 5 year old. We didn't notice anything fishy during the viewing and have decided just to go with the mandatory valuation survey from the lender.Home buying yet again!! Fingers crossed!!
