With 30 days notice I can jump ship anyway. Don't forget the EU roaming changes due on 15th June will cause a few changes to contracts as well.
Not all SIM only deals have 30 days notice, I'm on a 12 month contract because it was cheaper. Using a more expensive 30 day contract to allow me to switch if the price goes up further, to another providers more expensive 30 day contract (who will soon be putting their price up too) doesn't seem like a good use of my time or money.
My 12 month one ended last month, I'm on 30 days rolling now and watching carefully who offers the best roaming deals. There are one or two interesting SIM only offers from 3 at the moment but they are 12 month contracts. I could save £5 per month by switching to one.
