Can't post this at home as the administrator has banned my IP address? How do I get back to viewing the forum?

I think there is an issue with MSE as my IP address has been banned as well but only with Internet Explorer. Opera is usually fine but still occasionally get a meesage saying my IP address is banned.0

It doesn't look like Blackbeard has been banned. Most IP addresses these days are dynamic, very few remain the same. Banning an IP address is going to be of limited use when trying to block troublemakers, I would think. That, plus people are now being advised to hide their IP for security reasons. It is not because things are difficult that we dare not venture

That happened to me on another forum, when I must have received an IP that had been previously banned for goodness knows who. All I did was to reboot the computer and then I got in as my IP had changed.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
I am pretty sure it's the router that you have to reboot in the first place.
I might have. This was quite a few years ago.
Hang on, no. I'm sure my IP changes every day (when I go online) and I seldom reboot the router. I remember on one occasion, again a few years ago, checking for a few days and saw different IPs without the router being touched or switched off. I may well stand corrected though - I'm going to try it again just out of curiosity, in the next few days.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Now you have me all confused. My IP address say's I live somewhere different. I don't understand all this techie stuff.:(0

Your router assigns your pc an ip address when you log on, but its like internal mail within a company. Traffic from the internet sees your routers IP address only, your router directs it to the relevant user.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0
