Car tax increase after reminder letter

Always seems to happen to me.
I recently has a reminder letter for car tax. I renew it and it is not the same price as on the reminder letter.
Actually £6 difference for 6 months. Why are the government allowed to do this?

Was your letter at a pre budget rate and the renewal after that?0

I imagine the lower amount on the reminder letter is if you choose to pay by DD. Nothing has changed.theonlywayisup wrote: »Was your letter at a pre budget rate and the renewal after that?

Aghh ... (Band I) - £132. I was just confused why the renewal was less than I actually paid. Thanks0
