Hi guys, I am wondering as bt have massively upped my charges on line rental as i was on a 12 month contract but im still tied into the broadband which is an 18 month contract. Is there anything I can do? Am i able to get out of this 18 month broadband or not without paying? I didnt want to renew my line rental as they were trying to get me into another 2 yrs and after ive now realised they are stitching me up with this 18 month broadband to keep me locked in i really dont wanna renew. Feedback woukd be appreciated. Thanks

Not a chance, they would want the balace of the payment for the broaband,
To the end of your contract .make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Massive up on LR charges ?? are you sure .
LR is paid monthly or advanced yearly with a discount .
Not stitching you up at all you signed up to the terms and its fairly normal for LR and BB to be different term lengths depending upon the deal . .0 -
Thanks for your feedback mckeff. I expected it anyway. Cheers0

I was in the same boat as you, (line rental trap )
I got the email from BT about the new price rises & can leave without penalty info , so I did, & eventually got back the unused line rental,0 -
Not heard of this with BT, I have definitely heard of it with TalkTalk, Plusnet were better last time I asked them, they offered a £65 fee to break your contract which was better than paying for a bad deal.
Nobody can force you into a new contract for 2 years or any other period, just bill you month to month.
You could have paid off the contract and moved to Sky on that £65 per annum deal last month and it would have at least felt less.
You could also get out when prices went up, you could say you did not get any notification of price rise but probably a bit late for that.
Still I saw one on here last week and they pulled it off

It may not be a rip off but it feels like it.
BTW if that fails, it is worth calling to cancel and pay off saying you will never deal with them again and are going to let others know on BBand forums, they have been known to offer deals. Thanks, don't you just hate people with sigs !0
