Of course the fact that they are Asian does not mean that they are not English.

If you want to split hairs, the phrase is British-Asian, not English-Asian. That's not the problem, anyway, it's the curry smell 24-7

You need to be careful how you make complaints if this is the route you are decided on taking. If it ever gets to the point of your wanting to sell and move this will have to be listed in your selling and disputes disclosure information. If you don!t do this your potential buyer could have legal grounds for claiming non disclosure compensation from you.
  • It really makes me laugh though, this and the other thread where the OP is having trouble with noisy neighbours.

I mean, I've lived in flats in countries where you're not even allowed to hang clothes up in the window, because it 'doesn't look nice'. But then people there are not unassertive, and they tend to be more mature than Brits, and discuss things with each other. In this country people are afraid of saying anything, in case the other person gets all teenage and defensive. Not without reason, in a lot of cases, as the Police here will do diddley squat if the neighbour did punch you on the nose.

Lawless Britain, as I said on another thread this morning.

Am I the only one who would hate living next to strong curry smells.

Unless you have experienced it you really cannot understand how it permeates everywhere, its not like cooking an english meal where the smell goes quickly , it never goes , its always around because its so strong. English people cook a meal or zap something in the microwave but cooking is a large part of family and entertaining in Indian culture and so something is always being cooked.

As for horse manure, it doesnt smell.

    No you are not.

I also cannot stand the smell of cooking fish!

My OH loves fish but I cannot eat at the same time as him when he has it as it makes me feel ill.

And yes to compare it to living in the country is ridiculous. We live surrounded by fields and they are only sprayed for a short time. Yes it stinks for a couple of weeks but that is all.
