Not impossible, no, but not entirely necessary either. Hypothetically, if you could only have done that by taking money from your parents who were in debt themselves, or stayed in rented accommodation while your parents sorted themselves out, what would you have chosen?
I assume you managed to do everything by yourself - well done to you :T - I also hope that OP's daughter (or anyone else's!) will manage the same, maybe slightly later in lifeMortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -

Well, fingers crossed, she has found a house that she really likes and it is within her own budget.
She has never had sky, or a landline or even a computer, so she certainly won't miss any of those things.
Thank you all for your replies, the comments were certainly very thought provoking.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0 -
tbh i'd help your daughter - but are you confident that her job is secure and she could keep up the mortgage payments.

family first is my motto.
Thanks a lot, that would have been my first response. If I hadn't gotten myself into this debt, I would have been proud to help my children start their independent lives.
It'll take me a while, but I'll get myself clear eventually. But surely any parent would be proud, no not feel obliged but actually feel proud, to help their own child get a good start in life.
Yes her job is secure and what's more she is happy in her work. How many people do you know who are happy at their work??Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0
