Just go to the land registry. About £3 will tell uou who owns the land.0

I submitted the defense yesterday. I'm not sure knowing who owns the land will help me? Either way If I don't have a copy of any contracts all I can do is ask them to prove they are able to legally charge me?0

Yes it may well do and is worth the £3-odd. You can then add the details with your Witness statement before the hearing, to show the PPC doesn't have authority from the landowner.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

They have made a request that the case be heard on paperwork alone, I'm guessing I don't want to do this but there is no place for me to agree or disagree?0

Why don't you have another read of post #2 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread?
The answer is there for you.
That post should be your first point of reference at this stage.0 -

Seeing as this happens every time on every Gladstones claim thread, and has been discussed to death umpteen times, it constantly amazes me that posters are (seemingly) not ready for it. Pretty much every week, we answer the same thing, when posters could have searched the forum, or just Googled a handful of words from the silly letter.
Why not just Google the most unusual words as keywords, the same way you would research anything in life:

I have read this and filled out the paperwork, can't see any reference to this special direction.
I have been using this post to fill in the paper work:

On a different forum it said this is done automatically by ticking no to mediation and defend on full so this is what I have done.

Did you try searching the forum as well?
THis happens on EVERY GLADSTONES CASE. Your reading of the forum IN GENERAL will have found this by now. You must have read, what, 100 threads by now?0 -
From that summary:Note: Gladstones are currently including a 'request for special directions' asking the Court to hear the case on the papers only, without an oral hearing. You should oppose this, and include the following text in D1: “The Defendant opposes the Claimant’s request for special directions, and requests that the case be listed for an oral hearing at the defendant’s home court, pursuant to CPR 26.2A(3)”.0
