You will need to use a <8GB FAT formatted flash drive else your TV/Bluray will not read the drive.

Hi, thanks! I have an 8gb fat flash drive kicking around, will drag to that. Just out of interest, why 8gb max and fat for it to show on blue ray player?

UPDATE! Thanks for help soso far! The calibration disk from my sister was crap.....but did keep the colour thingy, red, blue green in cardboard for patterns if needed in future.

Best pick- and TV is a 2015 non HDR 4K 48 inched, we sit around 7 to 8 and a bit ft from TV ( moved forward) is settings for Exact model number from WHICH online, £1 trial at no, all I did was literally turn colour up just 2 numbers and backlight down 2 numbers, all other settings including advanced as per which settings, very very good pic! BTW, in the room/light I have (not an over bright room, low ceiling, most viewing when dark or Half dark), I found NATURAL setting for TV better than Which reccomended standard pic, but I guess in a brighter room standard might be better? AVS settings/patterns, maybe its my eyesight but could not get it right, WHICH settings are SO much faster and easier! I will try the coloured boxes etc again ( for hue, tint, can,t remember if covered by which but will obviously note current settings if I need to change back), as ASamsung has a specific tuning setting for red, blue, green, much easier than squinting through a cardboard filter! Will report back if any great improvement!

BTW, pic quality and upscaling done by Samsung TV Superb, played Sky fall compressed hevc/h265 1080p blue ray, compressed to 2 GB and Revanent 4k, compressed on MKV format to just 21gb, picture is best i,'be EVER seen, both absolutely superb, the upscaling on Samsung is BRILL, the contrast/colour on the 4k is absolutely pin sharp and mind blowing, on an even bigger file or native 4k I guess if its better than I,he seen on these 2 it,d blow your mind! SO, SO glad I spent the extra £145 ish on Samsung...! Sound quality is fab so the old ' mumblegate' (!) TV programme issues are a thing of the past with the setting for speech clarity and the mock surround sound setting is so distinct I think I,m going mad hearing noises behind me lol!

BTW, the films I mentioned were played via USB ex fat format, 1tb stick around a tenner or so off eBay, plugged directly into TV. Hope this helps some people! Not even got round to playing with SMART TV functions yet!

No matter how much you calibrate your TV with discs etc. it will always boil down to your personal preference. Some like it vibrant others subdued.
The most satisfying calibration is the one that you think is the best for you and your particular environment.

    UPDATE.

Managed to format flash drive & copy other calibration tool . As kindly advised on here used AVS free guide (best 1 I think)...as I may have mentioned on another thread sister had a disc from Dixons with the green/red/blue plastic you look through to help with the tuning.

Took an hour (all very precise/delicate on colours & tint to get right-takes delicate fiddling!) to do it but WOW.....TV pic is perfect! Anyone wanting to calibrate HD/4K UHD TV's who hasn't got one of these plastic coloured things to look through to help with tuning....GET ONE. I assume they'd be urber cheap on Ebay/Amazon. Results are SO much better than doing it by eye. Remember to calibrate in the level of light you normally watch in!
