Any free calibration discs/tools out there for UHD/4K?

Just purchased a full UHD Samsung. On my old (still working well!) Toshiba Regza 1080p TV I found free calibration patterns online & burnt them to disc-difference was STAGGERING.

Which have EXACT settings for adjusting picture/AV forums have a video (not watched it yet)......best to use these or is there a free UHD calibration tool/disc kicking ariund??? Thanks all!

Here you go in several formats so fill your boots.

UHD is no different. If you're talking about HDR though you're not going to be doing that with calibration tools/discs unless you buy new as the non-HDR stuff is of no use and you also need to go learning new calibration techniques.

Wow-that was quick! Will have a browse tomorrow! UHD TV coming on Tuesday-not sure when my internet will get upgraded to fibre (6-6.5mps at mo-20.5-25 with fibre)-CRAZY situ-can't give notice until 30 May.....upgrrading now is urber dear but a new customer gets sky original tv/line rental/fibre at £32-sky even advised me would be cheaper for G/F to be a 'new' customer! Called today as I said it was crazy (given I've had speed/wifi issues going on for 5 years-no '95%' fixed on wifi drop out but crap speed-everything-new cables been done but last one on exchange!) as happy to keep sky hd+ box, so no engineer even needs to call-no new router or Q BOX (surely cheaper for sky???!!) )-no Virgin here I'm afraid....so will muddle through in short term with lower speeds.....they've offered 33% off tv (down to £13 for original bundle)....but have to call the 'broadband retention/cancelation' people as for some reason can't do it in 1 hit???? Bed now...back on tomorrow-thanks again all!

Morning! Again thanks for the time & trouble to post these. Clicked on the 'pattern link/manual'-says 'file not found??!'.

If any of you knowledgable kind souls could post a direct link for these/and/or tuning 4K/UHD tv's from within the above links (as I said pattern one is 'file not found' & there are so many other formats-sorry to be dumb-that I'm not sure which link to click & save??) so I can burn to DVD when new TV arrives???

Just a last point-I won't be able to view any true UHD until Sky sort web to fibre-I have a Sky+ HD box as main TV receiver-is the picture or imaging on this still ok??? Will be playing disc through a really good LG full Blu-Ray player.

You're trying to download the manual which is no longer available and tbh you don't really need. Simply click on the link to the actual exe file. Do you have a blu-ray writer or just a DVD writer, this will determine which file you should download. If the latter then most decent blu-ray players will play the AVCHD version.

Hi all! Well received TV & applied settings as shown on 'Which' free trial for my particular model.

Not really had much time to play with it as disconnected it (really need a good 1/2 day to get that corner of sitting room cleaned/wires put in tower etc) until 18/4 when fibre is live & can use it full time. Pic looks great but as on my other thread since then Sky Techies have done a repair & pic on my older Toshiba 1080p is FANTASTIC now-much better than before-so expect the same on the 4k Samsung.

Questions-the AVS calibration disc seeems really well received & liked online-from your answers (sorry- I'm a bit thick!) the AVS calibration is for 1080p HD. Assume from your replies directly useable/interchangable for full UHD/4K?

Also....my lovely sis has just bought an HD TV & paid for an 'HD Calibration Wizard' DVD disc.....seeing her this weekend-again as questioned earlier assume it works exactly same for UHD/4K?

In answer to a previous poster-yes-have a Blu Ray player-NOT a burner. Am I best for the AVS stuff to burn to standard DVD or if gigger than 4.7gb DVD size copy to flash drive to play? If I copy through flash drive/USB-plug directly into TV or via Blu Ray? Thanks again for your help.

    Also....any feedback on this http://www.hometheaterequipment.com/video-calibration-forum-47/teds-lightspace-cms-calibration-disk-5714/

Bearing in mind I'm not that techie which of all the options do you think is easiest?

Burn the AVCHD version of the AVS calibration software to DVD using the instruction on the web site. You'll just be using t for the basics, such as black setting (brightness), contrast, colour etc so it will work fine on you 4K TV, besides I assume you don't actually have a 4K blu-ray player anyway. The alternative is to make a copy of your sister's disc.

    Hey guys....found this on AVS-10 tweaks free....http://www.avsforum.com/forum/139-display-calibration/2463698-r-masciola-s-hdr-10-uhd-test-patterns.html#post44269674
have downloaded & extracted to a flash drive but Blu Ray player does not recognise flash drive for some reason (maybe need to reformat-maybe cos no film or file type blu ray recognises-its decent-an LG-but 7 yrs old approx)??. File format of extracted files isVLC MP4 on one folder & VLC.ts on other, ....again any of you kind folks see from this link if I'm able to make an ISO image of it or burn directly to DVD-given that its to calibrate uhd??? 27/1 MB total file size. Any ideas...any different to full AVS HD disc (now downloaded & burnt-error with original file to burn it-used DVD shrink to make an ISO & burnt with imgburn-pattern manual btw also had an error but good old google found a different link-tip-if error opening file for this calibration from link previously posted-download the 'zip' version & unzip with freeware such as winzip etc) or slightly better/different as its specifically for UHD????

Ah....DVD shrink....not used for a while-forgot how GREAT it was at shrinking DVD'S to fit-rip/burn etc.....hopefully soon blank BLU RAY dvd disks will be cheap & cost of UHD blu rays (proper ones rather than upscalers-which TBH a friend has & are pretty damn good-never watched a PROPER unmastered genuine blu ray UHD-most discs on Amazon/Ebay etc are 2160p but mastered-i.e upscaled.
