Bosch or wilco drill

Depending on the size of the hole a normal drill can be nearly as good as an SDS, but, and this seems to be key, get good quality drill bits.
I'm currently using a Makita 18v li-ion drill as my main "small jobs" one and with some decent bit's it's far better than my old mains powered drills, if not as good as the SDS (but is far easier to use than the SDS*).
I tend to use either Bosch or Dewalt Extreme bits, the latter do some really good metal ones as well
(which did in about 30 seconds what I'd spent nearly 10 minutes trying to do with some cheap ones).
*I've got one of them in the garage complete with drills ranging from normal length/diameter to 1meterx25mm (I had to run some conduit under a stretch of path in the back garden).0 -
How do I look after these posh li-ion batteries
do I need to keep them charged or any thing if not used for long periods of time like a month or so?
I don't want them to die like my Makita batteries did.
ThanksSpending my time reading how to fix PC's,instead of looking at Facebook.0 -
All batteries will die eventually, expect in the region of 2-3 years, more than that is unlikely to be of much use if you do any kind of heavy work at all.
You may want a cordless but is it that needed? if you only intend to drive in a few screws now and again round the house i would stick with a screwdriver, using it daily or weekly is a different thing,Norn Iron Club member No 3530
