Transferring to a Pay as a you Go from an O2 tariff on Carphonewarehouse-Advise pls
I have been on a Car phone 12 month cashback tariff for the last 17 months now without cancelling ,mainly due to inertia and have finally got around to cancelling,to convert it to a pay as you go on O2 with the same number.
However called CPW and was told that I would have to pay for a pay as you go sim 5.99 for which they took my credit card details.I have recieved the sim card package in the post , havent opened it yet,but confusingly on the outside it gives a different number.
I would be going for a newer tariff come Christmas, however would like to retain my existing number until then.
Can anyone pls tell me how to hang onto my existing number and have a pay as you go at the same time.
Thanks
John

Send the sim back, £5.99:eek:
You can get an o2 sim for free, you even get paid for receiving one through quidco(£0.40?)
I didn't think that you could port from o2 to o2?
The sim you receive will always have a number on it, this will be lost when you 'Port' your previous number over.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
If you can cancel with CPW then cancel. Get in touch with O2 and ask them to convert your contract to Payg. They usually just do this or send you a sim for you to change over.0
