Afternoon everyone.
It's been pouring down all day and just stopped ten minutes ago. I've done a small wash which went upstairs on the airer with the dehumidifier going. I've moved two folding chairs and a set of folding steps out from the kitchen hallway into the back steading. I've put a mirror up on the front hallway wall, it's only been leaning against it for about six weeks and I've cleared out some things from the utility room. Oh, done a load of banking online as two regular savers have matured recently so had to apply for replacements, transfer money in and set up standing orders. Virgin Money seem to have new regular saving account coming out every month so grabbed one of those too.
Now spent up, financially and physically! I've ordered a curtain drawering rod to manage the large curtain at the front door better. Now I think I've chucked out the remote for the DVDwhich is a pain.
Nannywidow, I hope your injury isn't too bad.
csarina - my brother would never pick up or clean anything. We often had battles of wills when children as I would refuse to do it for him, he'd happily walk round or through obstacles.
It's cup of tea time and a dose of Flog It soon. Hope everyone enjoys the remains of the day.0 -
Csarina I feel your pain; Mr LW is good about cleaning up after himself, but it's never to my satisfaction, and I have to come behind him and re-do it.
Nannywindow Ouchy! More water with it, perhaps?:D
Floss Hoppy Birdday. :beer:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Floss Happy birthday. Hope you managed lots of treats.
Lovely early evening here after lots of rain. Emptied a couple of bins. Need to do bird feeders in next ad break - that's all I have energy for at the moment. Really wish we didn't have guests tomorrow.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
Thank you very much for your concerns, but I'm Ok apart from my hand and a few bruises. Funnily enough DH was checking the life insurance policy yesterday :rotfl:and I have spent the most of the day on the sofa being waited on, a guilty conscience maybe ... wondering now did I fall or was I pushed ?
Seriously though I think DH was more concerned and upset than I was.
nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
My late OH was pretty good at clearing up for years until he went to work in the Sudan in the early 1980s.
He was on contract for three years, and had three months out there then two weeks home then back for another three months at a time .Only trouble was all the ex-pats he shared a house with got very used to having 'houseboys' to pick up after them which made for a few frosty words from me when he was home on leave every three months .
He would come in after I picked him up from the airport and kick off his shoes and hang his coat etc on the floor and was quite astounded when yours truly didn't pick it up for him I'm, afraid it laid there until he realised what was happening in Khartoum or Port Sudan wasn't going to happen back in London:) I also wouldn't clean his car for him every night either
:):) strange really as the chaps who worked for him were quite happy to do it when he left the car in the compound
:)Still when he was eventually back home for good the girls and I soon showed him the error of his ways
:):) and he was soon knocked back into a semblance of his old self again
:):)
Weather's not been too bad this afternoon, and the History club was really interesting about the Mary rose and how they resurrected it from its watery grave.
Have to make umpteen sausage rolls tomorrow for DGS Danny and his wife for the family 'do' on Sunday
Right I'm off to my bed for a read now
Good night God bless all here
