Many years back we got a SIM from a company called One Roam based in Estonia, who had no charge to receive calls when abroad, all different now of course.
Several years back they were taken over by someone, cannot remember who.
We still have some credit on the SIM, but as they operated an auto top up from your credit card when your credit ran low, we do not want to try to use it in case they do that, so we need fo cancel the auto top up first.
The SIM still works, but we cannot find how to log into our account any more.
Can anyone shed any light on who owns it now.
Now there are no roaming charges we no longer need it, just want to use up the credit in good MSE fashion!

If you just want to receive calls, while roaming in EU countries, without an incoming charge, a UK O2 PAYG SIM works fine. UK callers can use their included minutes to call the O2 number.
Not sure about the Estonian SIM, is this their site?

Could it have been a Liechtensten number? I think it was to start with, but some of these firms resold different SIMs during their life, so probably Estonia later.
Anyway, it was taken over by GO-SIM in 2010, (which is now owned by Jersey Telecom; JT also owns ekit), so I suspect they'd like you to have one of their SIMs.
But as you surmise, if you're going to be mainly in Europe, using ordinary UK SIMs will very likely work out cheaper nowadays.0
