    A lot can go wrong with badly fitted windows, and don't expect it to always show up instantly. They can leak water. A bad job might hold up a while with lots of sealant around the gaps, but it won't last, and can be hard to repair if the window is simply the wrong size and shoved in with packing. I'm also aware of some big problems caused by installers removing wooden windows, particularly bay windows, parts of which are in some cases holding up the wall above. Plastic windows aren't that strong, so some time later the wall starts sagging and cracking. Sagging walls are extreme cases, but they do happen sometimes, and it's very expensive to fix. Misted up panes isn't a complete list of what can go wrong.
