Not many have survived, I'd imagine, being convenient spaces to infill with builders' rubbish for a century or so.
One of my family knows more about the local area than most, having researched all the older buildings in the parish and published a book about them. No records of any deaths in relation to these storage reservoirs to his knowledge.0 -

The site was up for sale not long ago - Asking price was around £2.5M as I recall...

Something similar happened to a house down the road from here. It was rather convenient as the owner had previously been refused permission to demolish the house and replace it with two new ones.
There are now two new houses on the site.0 -
