Hi chums well my Dr is so nice bless him and when I said I thought the kids were making a fuss over nothing, he said 'never ever think that, I am pleased to see you at any time. He has been my Dr for 21 years and I have seen him go from a young newly qualified Dr to a middle aged chap with grey hair :) Thoroughly nice chap, and he had a peer inside my lugs and said looks like the canal is getting very narrow, and has signs of an old badly healed infection ,so I have a spray to use and he has referred me to the audiology dept at the local hospital, I still think its just down to old age but hey I'll keep the kids and him happy and trot along when I get my letter :)
I'm pleased you've decided to humour your kids; believe me, going deaf is really no picnic; eventually makes it impossible to follow a conversation if more than 2 people present, and enjoyment of music becomes a thing of the past.

Something happened which feels completely the wrong way round – a dog owner apologised to me!! We were out for a walk and went past Yappy Dog House down the road, all three dogs were in the front garden and they rushed to the fence, yapping away. Scampi stiffened up then quickly relaxed, turned around to face me and sat down - “treat please?” lol. The woman couldn't apologise enough (she's not sorry enough to train them to not to do it though, they always bark at anything that moves). I have to say it again – Scampi kept his cool and Someone Apologised To Me :D
Aww, well done, Scampi! :T We used to have a pack of eight living in the bungalow opposite us; and they yapped constantly, all hours of the day and night. Now, I adore dogs, but eight of 'em going hammer and tongs at three in the morning when it's summer and you want the bedroom window open at night is just a tad much!
With reference to my reply to JackieO above, it's one of the few times I was actually happy to be hard-of-hearing!:rotfl:
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

DD and sil coming over to have a meal, stay overnight, have breakfast and then leave their cat with me.

Tempted by the illustration of a mince plate pie made with potato pastry so promised to cook that for tonight. So far it has taken an hour and the filling is still simmering and have not made the pastry yet. Good thing they will not arrive till 7.30.

Bed is made and need to do a quick clean of two bathrooms and tidy downstairs.

Hugs to all

Weather here today is grey, cloudy, drizzle on and off but fairly mild.

nmlc – Your work situation of being understaffed sounds oh so familiar and I’m not sure being so flexible is always fully appreciated (actually I know it isn’t in the long run). I’m with snoozer on this one – work to rule!

dumpling – Hope the appointment with the fang doctor wasn’t too much of an ordeal for you; sometimes the thought of what’s to come can make you feel so sick but, as you say, toothache is far worse and at least now you won’t be in pain. Best wishes to you and DD for tomorrow’s session.

aod – Yup, teabags don’t really do good “seconds”. Yuk.

Judi - Happy birthday :bdaycake:. I can understand why your finger of suspicion is pointing in a certain direction and really hope you find your ring so you can “unpoint” it.

TA – Hope today went well for you and DH.

Gers – nothing wrong with a cuppa and a snooze! :D

On the subject of going deaf, my late FiL would often turn his hearing aids off and in his later years relied mainly on lip-reading. We joked he did it so he couldn’t hear MiL’s nagging but it was frustrating at times. I know how I feel if I get a lot of wax bunging up the old lugholes.

Bit of a lazy day today but hey ho, I’m sure I’ll make up for it tomorrow.

(((Hugs))) to the poorlies, hope you get well soon. X

Happy Birthday Judi

I really hope the ring turns up.

DD and sil really enjoyed the plate pie - sil has copied the recipe even though it took me about three hours rather than an hour and a half. Two portions are now in the freezer and another portion is for tomorrow's lunch.

They leave to go to the airport around 5.15 tomorrow so I made some bacon sandwiches, wrapped them in foil and put them in the fridge so they can grab them in the morning.

They arrive back early on Sunday so I have a list of instructions for cat care till then. Looks as if at least a couple of dds will be over for lunch as well so will need to get my skates on.

Hugs to all
