Morning everyone,
I'm back from my trip to Aviemore. It was wonderful. Weather was the best we've ever had (even in summer). I've got some lovely pictures so I'll if i can post one later.
Surprisingly didn't spend too much which is good and it's payday tomorrow, so all good on the financial front.
Today will be a spend day though as I need to get my shopping in for the remainder of the week and I've also got football tonight too.
Hope everyone is well.
dumpling - hope all goes well today for you0 -

Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Its raining here, so OH will be under my feet all morning.
The electrician has been and checked in the roof, the PV panels are now on, it will mean a bit of a change in our consumption but not much. Waiting now for them to come and sort the gatepost which is leaning at an interesting angle which means we cannot shut the gate.
Watched Martin last night, having just changed our meter we are locked in to a deal for 12 months unless I want to pay out £100 to switch, not too sure what to do. I have been with SSE for a few years now. I am running into debt with the electric so need to sort something out with that, then I might consider changing. tied into deals with my telephone and broadband as well.
No plans apart from making scotch broth and tonight cauli and broc gratin. Might do a bit at OH's bowls gilet, see how I feel later.0 -
Dumpling, ouch, I hope it all goes well and that your dd gets the help she needs.
TA, I hope your fears are groundless.
Hester and NMLC, employers expect somuch these days and seem to give nothing in return. DDiL is working her notice period, she is a solicitor who regularly works 20-30 hour extra a week. She had a couple of days off sick recently and has been told that they don't have to pay her for them as it's discretionary during her notice period. She has told them that she will now use her discretion only to work her contracted hours until she leaves.
I wasn't at all well yesterday and slept through a lot of it, hopefully today will be better. DH is working from home though thankfully he will be in the study now we've sorted it out, rather than the kitchen table.0 -
Morning all,JUDI I hope your ring turns up. You may, or may not, remember my wedding ring went missing about 18 months ago. As we had been here, there and everywhere that weekend it could have been anywhere. Nevertheless I turned the house upside down just in case. to no avail. Then, about 4 months later, when tidying the garden after winter, I found it just laying in the back garden! I couldn't believe my eyes! So the moral of the story is don't give up hope just yet.Happy Birthday Judi
Thank you. Youngest daughter and Youngest have spoiled me. Ive heard from my daughter in S.A. Hubby wont realize its my birthday until he sees the cards on the fireplace. He's not big on birthdays.:(
Ive got my Grandson this afternoon. I haven't seen him for 3 weeks so i'm so looking forward to it.

Had a lovely evening at Rochester library last night at the meet the author evening He was called James Aitcheson and was a really nice young man who looked about 12 but was in fact 31 and had just written his 4th book.It looked so interesting I actually bought it and look forward to reading it next week on holiday, Its called The Harrowing and is set after the 1066 invasion of England. Our local library system often have evenings for different writers to come and talk about their new books We have Val McDermid coming later on this year and I bet that will be packed.Very pleasant evening with tea/coffee and biscuits as well on tap:):) what's not to enjoy.
I am eating up the fresh stuff in the fridge this week especially and have already started sorting out the food box for tinned bits to take with us next week. I am so looking forward to Sunday evening to see how the boys take their surprise trip:):)
The weather is set to be nice today and even nicer tomorrow as well :0 so fingers crossed for next week :0
Hope you all have a good day today I am having a bit of a tidy up day today and will be getting rid of lots of paperwork if I can as its accumulating up again

It's a horrible wet grey day here. Kitchen wiped down including cooker top, DW emptied, refilled and on. Not doing much else today as I'm too tired. Slept well last night but still tired this morning !

Afternoon - the rain is settling in, I can see it coming in across the sea from Jura in one large ball of mist.
Teaching today was mostly relaxed, one poor student had a complete worry attack about his chosen topic. After a long chat with him I agreed to let him change his topic as long as he caught up with the work over the Easter break. Time is so tight as we finish on 27 May and the main writing up of the topic will take up the whole of April and May. He was so grateful that the agreed...time will tell!
I've just lit the woodburner again as it's so cold. I had another bad night with my sore knee, I can see me going to the docs for different painkillers. I've got Naproxen and it's been linked to heart problems so I'm reluctant to take it any more! However, I have nothing to complain about really even though I'm not used to sleepless nights.
Happy Birthday Judi :bdaycake: and many more. I lost a very distinctive case for my phone the other week, can only be in the house or in the car and yet I can't find it anywhere. It'll turn up when I'm least expecting it no doubt but it is annoying. My DM is always in a panic about a lost something or other and turns her house upside down three times before finding it. Good luck in your search.
Time for a cup of tea and a wee small cheeky snooze I think!0
