Giving estate agents notice before listing with new agent.

Options
Hi,
We want to list our property with a new agent. To do this will we just send a recorded letter with basic information 'this property from this date' or should we also list the reasons why we are choosing to move agents?

Also, the contract does not mention anything about sign removal. Based on this should we just take it to the tip?

Just send them an email. Make sure it's enough notice as per t&cs and yes state the date.
I just gave the obvious reason when I did it....you haven't sold it so I'm trying another agent.
Ask them what they want doing with the for sale board. They usually come and pick it up.

You should read your contract carefully, it will explain how you terminate it.

Often they just say something like you have to give 2 or 4 weeks notice in writing.

But recently, I had a contract where it gave much more specific instructions - I had to send an email to 'cancellations@xxxxxxx.co.uk'

To avoid any risk of double fees, also ask them for a list of prospective purchasers who they feel they have introduced. Pass the list to the new EA, and tell them to refer any enquiries from those purchasers back to the first EA.
