I've been a Sky TV customer for years and have had their BB on and off over that time (chasing deals & cashback) and have found them to be very good, subject to the quality of the underlying line.

My main BB is Virgin and I have a Sky Fibre connection is a backup.
  • My recommendation would be NOT to choose TalkTalk.

Dreadful customer service, hours of debate to get nowhere and be transferred to other departments.

Failed to cancel my account on the 3rd July 2018 despite being asked to confirm which I did (have a copy of the online chat to prove it).

They now want a further 30 days notice so I've raised a formal complaint.

However, please note that the complaints procedure is so onerous and long-winded, I doubt I'll ever see the end of it.

    You have been warned!

Talktalk has a poor track record on keeping customer data safe. Customer bank details have been compromised in the past, and they have been fined by regulators. Just another point to consider...
  • I tried to subscribe this morning to Plus. Looks like a very good offer, £18.99 U/L Broadband incl line rental.
Having completed the online application I paid £18.99 upfront as requested. An account was not created however, I then called the sales team ( 15 minute wait ) and completed on the phone. All good until payment as the card was declined and stopped by my banks fraud team. As this was the 2nd transaction it flagged up. I was then informed by my bank that the 1st payment had in fact been taken although I don't have an account. I was given a number to call ( By Plus net) when I had sorted it out and I was told no need to apply again as it was only the payment required. I called the number ( 15 minute wait ) and he found no trace of either account and that if money had been taken it would be returned and I shouldn't have been given his number as his colleague didn't know what he was talking about. He then terminated the call as I was talking.

I was informed that my details would be passed to a manager but as suspected, no calls. I also e-mailed the PR manager and PR executive also with no response.

The bottom line, no new account although Plus net took the money, no help from customer service and the the call being cut off. Failure to respond to messages including the PR dept. They still have the money and apparently no record of me???????????????????????????????????????

If this is how I'm treated whilst trying to buy the product I hate to think of how bad the customer service is when it goes wrong?
