Retailers aren't selling at a loss to students. Get the card, save some money, spend it somewhere else, everyone is happy!
  • As you are legally a student you are entitled to it.

Why you are asking this I don't know!

Come on, be brave, use it.

Fun fact - lots of University staff end up with one too, plenty of us queue up in the Students Union to buy a card at the start of term - we study Other at the University of Other!

For many student deals all you need is an ac.uk email address, so I also have cheap amazon prime and spotify ;)
No moral dilemma there, it's fraud and a crime to falsely assert that you're a student to get a student only price.

As a distance learning student myself I have had an NUS card (and UNiDAYS and Student Beans :D) for the whole three years of my course and they have all been used extensively. I will miss them greatly when I finish my course in May- luckily I have an offer for a Masters at a brick Uni for October so I'll get access again then :)

  • Yes you should. Saves me a fortune because my local supermarket is a co-op and you get 10% off with an NUS card. As you get more into your course you'll cling onto it as one of the few compensations you get for the sleepless nights and endless assignment stress . The only drawback I've found is not feeling guilty for money saving , it's the double takes from the shop assistants when I hand it over because I am clearly not in the usual 18-21 student age bracket :rotfl:. But even a mature student is still a student, let them look, it's worth it to save some pennies!!
    :rotfl: Em xx :rotfl:
  • You have just said that you are entitled to this card. Where's the dilemma?

If they didn't want people in full time employment to claim the discounts, the T&Cs would state this.
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?
