It was 2 Accounts that I had. This is the second time in a year they have made offers of settlement to me. This one was too good not to act upon. 15k saving and I don’t mind saying I was quite excited and a little emotional when I paid it.

Great result. What a brilliant saving. We don't have any debts with them, but hoping our creditors will be as helpful. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Wow :j So pleased for you. I would have been emotional too
Maybe I will just watch for the post and see if they offer me a nice settlement figure.DFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -
I'm not sure if I'm on the right thread but thought I'd try here first. I'm nearing the end of my DMP (Aug2018) and have been looking at the dates of defaults and trying to get them put back to the beginning of my DMP. Also I have noticed that on my Experian Credit Report a default is shown for both the original lender of the account and the Collectors it had been passed to, making 5 defaults look like 7. Is this normal or can I get this changed?
Thank you.0 -

Brilliant result:j:money:. Feeling excited and emotional are perfectly normal emotions in the circumstances:T. I think I'd have gone further and fainted with relief;)
Incidentally, as you mentioned it in your previous post, it was me who asked about the percentage. 25% is absolutely mind-blowing especially when the debt was so big:eek:. No wonder you were so happy to accept it.
My debt with them is currently about £2500 so I don't expect such a good discount figure. I'm only paying a token £1 at the moment but in their eyes there is a possibility things might improve and I'll pay a lot more off. They haven't written to offer me a settlement yet, they only bought the debt last summer, so maybe I'll hang on until they do rather than pre-empting things and making my offer first:think:0 -
Hi
I’ve had a response from Next. They state that they are unable to find my original agreement due to the length of time past (2001) however have sent a true copy (as allowed by the act) and have stated that the “true copy must contain every material provision of the original agreement, including the original name and address of the parties”. I assume this refers to my original name and address as what they have sent doesn’t (only has their address). They have sent a “true copy” a current copy credit agreement and statement of account but I also thought for accounts this old they had to send terms of reference. Not sure if that’s right. Finally they’ve said the balance is still owing and they will seek to recover it and record the status via credit ref agencies etc but don’t mention if it’s enforcable or unenforceable etc. Any thoughts or know where I can get this checked out. Many thanks.0 -

Summer, there's a website called All About Debt. Several of us have used it and they will check out agreements and paperwork from CCA requests if you scan and send them:j. It's completely free too:j. There's a mine of information on unenforceability from resident solicitors and posters who have 'been there and done it'.
For some reason it's not possible to do links to the site (or at least I can't:o) so have a look to see if you can find them by a search.
Good luck:beer:0 -

Hi Carboot, I have been thinking of searching AAD for a while and just found it. Noticed it asks when you sign up, if you want to pay 99p to access the Legal threads forums etc. I presume we would need to do this it wanting help from them regarding UE's? Just trying to get prepared....:)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Not sure about that, sorry:o
I don't recall paying anything but I joined several months ago. Things may have changed since then.
Maybe January or a recent poster on there might be along soon and can advise you better. Glad you found the website though:T0 -

Hi,
I originally accessed the site for free but did then pay £10 for a years access to be able to use the letter templates.
They did come back with my cca being UE and this has now been agreed by the creditor so my debt dropped by 9K.. well worth the £10....
