Certification period of electric meter

Thanks for the replies.
Has anyone had experience of any of the Fluke energy loggers?
I’m looking at hiring a Fluke 1730 monitor each phase and to tell me if the meter is working properly. This looks the perfect bit of kit, I’m hoping it’s not too complicated to operate!0 -
The digits may move slightly when tapped , nothing to worry about.
This is a business meter on a business tariff. Try a 1 bar 1 kwh electric heater running for exactly one hour with everything else switched off. The meter should then have advanced another unit, Start the check when the 1 kwh digit advances as I can t see a tenths of a unit on this meter.0 -

It’s on a farm on a residential tariff. It serves two dwellings (all one family) with no sub meters, the way the place is wired it’s very difficult to turn everything off. In an ideal world I would have already carried out your suggestion. I am hiring an energy logger this week. Hopefully then I will know which property and buildings are on what phase, and if the meter is still working ok.0 -
I have a dials analogue style Eastern Electricity S 200 .16 WATTHOUR METER. It has a 'Certified 06/91' sticker on it. Is it still under certification or should it be recertified or changed.I'm keen to have it changed as I sometimes have difficulty reading it when the dial is on or very close to a number. My supplier put me on the waiting list for a smart meter a year ago and will not consider changing it for a non-smart digital meter as it's not faulty. I'm keen to move to another supplier but keener to have the meter changed. If I switch will I have to rejoin another suppliers queue.0

All you have to remember is that each pointer goes in the opposite direction to its neighbours and that you have to record the number it's just passed, unless it's pointing directly at a number. If you're not quite sure whether it's pointing directly at a number, just look at the black dial immediately to the right: chose the lower number if the dial on the right is showing 7, 8, or 9 and choose the higher number if the dial on the right is showing 0, 1 or 2. If it's between 9 and 0, 9 is considered to be the lower number.0

I posted on here because you all seem to know about how often meters are supposed to be checked or changed. That is the information I'm looking for.I made a mistake with an earlier reading and did not realise until I couldn't input the next reading because it was lower. I provided photos to the supplier and they told me the meter was faulty because it was going backwards. An appointment was booked to fit a new meter, then lockdown happened and it was cancelled. I supplied the next months reading and the meter was going forward. They now say they misread the photos and the meter is not faulty. So even the supplier can't read their own meter. They have added me to the waiting list for a smart meter. I was added to the waiting list a year ago and nothing happened in that year. I want to switch supplier but this meter problem is stopping me.I want to know if my meter is past the recertification date. Can anybody tell me.0

My meter has a Certified 06/91 sticker on it and I don't think anyone has checked the meter since then. As I do the readings myself I can only remember one time when a meter reader called when I was at home but that was just to read the meter. My current supplier will only change the meter if it's faulty or if I go on the waiting list for a smart meter.I am looking for information on certification only. Please do not offer any more advice on how to read the meter.
