I'm having a quiet day. I had a phone call early this morning from DS - I think he and DiL are going over to her mum so I asked and said "C will want to see her mum" to try to make him see I'm not upset. We only live 10 minutes away from them and it's over an hour to her mum's so we inevitably see more of them, I'd rather that than only see them once in a blue moon because it's a "special" day.

DD texted to say she would ring later because they are heading out to her best friend's birthday lunch. He's gay and they lived together in a flat for a couple of year's after they left uni - they've known each other since they were 14. He made a lovely speech at her wedding even though he was still recovering from an op where he'd had his jaw broken in two places.

We've been gardening and I've been doing a bit of sewing but that's all for today. I'm just about to put some mince on to cook to make lasagne for dinner.

Ive lost count the amount of times ive told Prodigal, your welcome here at any time but not when your drunk or high... So he's been today as high as a kite. Actually he came 3 times. Had a paddy on him each time as he had lost his jumper and wanted one of Dads or Youngests and I said no. If he hadn't been in such a state he wouldn't have lost it. I might have been tempted if it was cold but it wasn't. He's got to learn!

He ripped up his mail that had been sent here in the front garden. Official stuff too. What a plank!

I'm not best pleased as you can imagine but at least hubby saw how unpredictable is he when he's off his face.... Not that it did any good, he just lay there on the settee playing with his phone.

    I'm annoyed.

    Afternoon all
We're home from the boat, there were flowers on the doorstep waiting for me from DS1, I saw DD2 when we dropped DGD home after her weekend away with us, DD1 will be over later and DS2 is working and will pop round later in the week.
I've done 2 loads of washing since I got home and run the DW on a 'clean' cycle.
I had a text message on the way home from our prospective tenant, I have about 10 weeks to empty my house, busy times ahead.
It was lovely to meet Csarina and her DH on Saturday, it was a lovely sunny warm day.
    Have a good evening everyone.
    Hugs Hester

HH I didnt realise you were renting out, I somehow thought you had sold your house.

DH has been feeling a little "delicate" today - we went to a beer festival in town yesterday with some friends, arrived at 12.10m and left at 7pm, then went home, cooked tandoori and drank a bit more. I went to bed around 11.30, DH came to bed around 2ish before the clocks went forward! When our guests had left after brunch he went back to bed for 3 hours ;)

  • Had a lovely Mother's Day and now ready for a little nap. DS descended late morning with a card and a DVD for me. Invited him to stay for lunch and popped the chicken portions in the oven. Then DD and the DGDs arrived bearing gifts and a bottle of Prosecco. "What are you doing inside" she says "you should be sitting in the garden ready to drink a glass of Prosecco" So we had to take all the garden chairs out and sit in the sunshine with a glass! By the time they left (her bf taking them all out for lunch) our lunch was drying up a bit but we enjoyed it all the same!

We then spent a couple of hours sitting in the sunshine. Not quite as warm as yesterday but very pleasant all the same. Bumble bees were out in force but no butterflies sadly.

    Enjoy your evening folks xx

Good evening all, youngest DD came this morning bear some lovely presents bless her, a very pretty floaty scarf,a Yankee candle Fresia scented a pretty pair of pull on slippers, and some chocolates bless her she is a dear little soul and does appreciate all that's done to help her house run smoothly. Sadly her OHs Mum lives in Somerset and they aren't very close at all, and she's not a very maternal mum or grandma, but we can'all be the same I guess. I am feeling very blessed today with my family .

Hope everyone has had a good day and the sun has shone down on you all

    Cheers chums

Back home safely. Just one dive again today. DH wanted to do another, but I'd had enough. Too cold. Went to Furnace quarry - Dogfish reef. Which was Dogfishless. A few crab but not much else.

Quick flyby Loch Fyne Oyster bar. Bought fish, pate, cheese etc and had a smorgasbord dinner. Yum.

DH organising a rental for tomorrow so I will drop him at the hospital and then go to my PT session. I'm not sure I'll be running tomorrow night - someone coming to buy the underused multi-gym. Very MSE - money may be going towards some running coaching.

Dumpling what a lovely surprise. Hope DD's are able to resolve what's troubling them. Don't forget to be kind to yourself.

Jackie it's great that your DD's appreciate all you do.

What another beautiful day it's been here, more cloud than yesterday but very hot.

We had breakfast in a cafe, went for a long walk in an ancient woodland, hung my pictures at last, drank some fizz sitting outside in the bright sunshine, ate some extremely tasty lamb shanks, drank some great white wine and entertained a neighbour who dropped round with some venison from the hill.

I'm now in bed, I've got to leave early in the morning to take my friends back down to Glasgow airport.

FBO - you were so close to me, well, about 30 miles away! Furnace is a strange wee place, I did some work in the primary school there last year.

So, I'm well fed, well watered and had a fabulous day.

I've just had the most lovely surprise, a visit from my sister who lives in Wales. I haven't seen her for over a year so it was lovely to catch up. She is on a flying visit here so next time she comes to North Devon she has promised to arrange a lunch out for my mum and all of us girls together. It has really cheered me up, not that I was feeling particularly unhappy :). She has changed quite a bit and now looks so much like another sister of ours I was quite fascinated.

    So pleased for you.
