Good Morning everyone and to those that still have them or are one Happy Mothering Sunday.Just waiting for youngest DD to arrive.I spoke to eldest DD last night as my DGS in New York worked out a way for myself ,his Mum and Dad and his other grandparents to have a video call via our laptops .His other grandparents live in London His Mum(my DD) and Dad were at their caravan in Deal and I was at my house .He gave us all a guided tour of his new apartment in new York and very nice it is as well.Lovely for him and his wife Hayley to see all the family at the same time for a chat. The wonders of the internet never cease to amaze me .

To those of us on here who have recently lost their mums I send my thoughts for a peaceful day.May you have happy memories to think about today. They may be gone but Mums are never forgotten I lost my Mum 55 years ago but she is still around me in so many ways. She definitely made me the person I am today.

Eldest DD gave me a beautiful duvet set and also a cook book that I was after bless her and a lovely card as well I have always said to the girls don't buy flowers for Mothers Day as you will be over charged for them :) frugality wins out yet again and they normally find something else instead :):):)
Right the kettle is calling and I must get a wriggle on
Have a great day all the mums out there and enjoy being spoiled by your children

    Cheers chums

    Morning All

Another beautiful morning - yesterday was just glorious. All the bedding was dried outside (including the mattress protector) and put back on the bed, another load of towels dried too.

I have one of the throws from the living room in the WM to give it a freshen up, I'm sure I'll find more later!

Hope you're ok FBO and enjoyed your dive - a bit chilly?
Your boat trip sounds perfect Gers.
How's your arm this morning tru?
Your poor DD dumpling, hope you find out what's wrong.

I was meant to be going to Glasgow later to meet DD, she was taking me to a gin bar for a meal and drink but she is very poorly, she phoned last night and sounded terrible. We can go another time - it's actually quite good as it's such a lovely day I can get on with lots of stuff here.

Dinner last night was lovely, I managed to make fish cakes (a little soggy but tasty), chicken marinated in mango chutney and mustard and assorted veg. Even made a choccie cake for desert. I surprise myself sometimes! It was good to catch up with friends too.

Right, I'm off for a shower and start the day. Enjoy Sunday. Take care. XX

    Good morning
The sun is shining here, wow two days in a row, but the wind is still biting. I hope it will be shining tomorrow because we need to go over to the caravan to give it a clean ready for our holiday.
Having a roast dinner today when Dad arrives, so veg prepped and ready to go and I think DD will be here later, probably with the DGC in tow :rotfl:.
    Have a happy Sunday everyone.

    Morning all

As seems to be a common theme here, my bedding is currently outside drying. I'm just looking at the windows thinking I really should clean them today...maybe later...I'm enjoying sitting doing nothing atm :D

I should go for a run at some point but I am so fed up of the same route. I have few options as it is very hilly and I can't 'do' hills atm (too unfit :o) but I really can't face taking the same flatish route again! We shall see later.

No idea what is on the menu tonight. I forgot to buy butter yesterday so may have a walk to the local shop later...the danger is a bottle of wine and other goodies may fall into my basket and I'm trying to be good!

Enjoy your Sunday one and all :)

Hugs Dumpling. I'm at a loss as to what to say. I hope today goes better for her and for you.

A day catching up on things we didn't do yesterday I think. Plus Youngest wants his Dads help buying a new to him car. I'm hoping that will leave my afternoon free.

    Afternoon everyone,

The house is very quiet,DGS has been picked up by hisMum and DGD and DS have gone for a drive to the seaside as her Mummy is working till 6,but we made cards for them before they went.
DS1 is flying off on a stag do as I type so I got 2 nice plants from them yesterday.DH has just made a lovely brunch and we may go for a walk in a bit as its such a beautiful day, though cooler than yesterday.

Our road is open again :j:j:j after 15 months of having to park halfway up the hill and carry all our shopping down we can park outside. The men probably have another week here putting a fence along and tidying round ,and planting wild flower seeds across the road apparently, and we shouldn't get flooded again (still fingers crossed though :D)Lots of people came passed yesterday on the way to the park and stopped to look.It just feels so great to have the barriers down after all this time.

We have DH uncles funeral tomorrow on the Fylde coast so a bit of a drive,he was 92 so had a good innings, bless him.

Right, off to make the most of this weather, enjoy your day everyone xx

  • A beautiful sunny day here so much so that I've just opened up he greenhouse and polytunnel and watered everything in them! walking back to the house I came across a peacock butterfly just out of hibernation sitting on the path sunning itself, wings just gently fanning in the sun, it stayed there for a few minutes and then was off! several very large and beautiful bumble bees are out and about today, all over the pots of pansies on the patio I just love to see them. I've just had a phone call from Charlie retrievers mum and we'll walk the dogs this afternoon too, cards from daughters and my Zebra child on the mantelpiece and it's a lovely Mothering Sunday all round!!!

Lainey I was thinking about you earlier today, hun; hope today is a good day for you. x

I'm afraid Mothering Sunday passes me by; I'm estranged from my blood rellies, and don't have any children (my choice); and Mr LW's Mum passed away in 2001, before I met Mr LW, so I never knew her - but I'm really looking forward to my new "niece" (I'm always "Auntie" to the woofers) Bluebell coming to stay - just 8 more days to go. :o

I've just had the most lovely surprise, a visit from my sister who lives in Wales. I haven't seen her for over a year so it was lovely to catch up. She is on a flying visit here so next time she comes to North Devon she has promised to arrange a lunch out for my mum and all of us girls together. It has really cheered me up, not that I was feeling particularly unhappy :). She has changed quite a bit and now looks so much like another sister of ours I was quite fascinated.

Anyway, I have had a lovely lunch cooked by my hubby and have just snaffled a cornetto to go with a cup of tea. Hope you are all enjoying some lovely sunshine xx
