Status 6 V's default.

Options
Hi all,

I will be attempting a mortgage application around March next year and on checking my file I found a default registered against me in Feb 2013 by Yorkshire bank for £1250. Due to changing jobs the account fell behind and in December 2012 I agreed to pay £30 each week until the debt was settled, and in return no default would be registered. I contact Yorkshire bank and they accepted our arrangement and reverted the account to status 6, satisfied in November 2013. They removed the default as requested.

Now my question, in people experience, have a messed up? The default was due to clear Feb 2019, the status 6 won't clear until Nov 2019. Do mortgage and credit brokers view them equally and penalize accordingly or is the status 6 deemed less severe? Not been able to find anything online so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I assume status 6 means your up to 6 payments behind, yes ?

Really you should of left the default alone, as it would of gone of its own accord after 6 years.

The account status will continue to show after its paid off, but will show as settled.

I found that they view 6 staus as bad as defaults may pay to wait till the November when gone, but people on here say there are special mortgages brokers that can help

Thanks, my made up 'credit score' dropped by 68 points but I can't excessively complain as my file reads as a true reflection of my circumstance at the time. As it's the only major negative on my file and will have been satisfied for over 4 years at time of application then fingers crossed somebody will see it was a blip and not the norm, but where money is involved I fear the computer will say no.
