I'm guessing that because you phoned you received confirmation in the post. When we claimed online there was a document detailing the claim that you could save and print off so maybe that is the equivalent to a letter.I imagine the letter with exact amount and date of first payment will be nearer the time.Just have to be patient !

The letter I received in Jan not only confirmed the claim but stated the exact amount I would receive and the date I would receive it, 7th April.
I should then receive the letter asking how I want the deferral paid by the end of April and that for me will be additional pension.

Thanks.I think we may ring them up if we don't hear soon, our start date is about the same as yours, except we opted for monthly. It's about 7 weeks since we applied.

I'm in the same situation as Froglet. Claimed online on 19th Jan, for a 9th April start date. Printed the 'your claim's been submitted' pages (but no reference number). Heard nowt since! Think I'll be phoning 0800 7317898 some time this week....

So you will probably hear from them round about now then.

I applied a couple of months in advance and got my ANSOD a couple of weeks before the first payment was due. I assume they process the ones that need to go out soon before the ones that are way down the line. Anyone who has a SPa later than 5/4/2017 may be pushed to the back as well in the hope that the details of the FRY (Final Relevant Year) will become available.

Can you let me know if you hear from them please ?.The start date and actually getting the pension paid are 4 weeks apart and maybe we won't hear until nearer the latter.

Thanks,I hope we do,confirmation by post is always a relief, rather than the document online at the time of applying.

I phoned them last Tuesday; my pension is 'in progress' apparently. Non-committal on when I would receive a letter although acknowledged the point that we are now inside the 2 weeks notice that they say we should have. I asked if I could be told my starting amount (basic + SERPS/S2P) and was told 'not exactly' but the figure given was within £1 of my own calculation so happy with that.
I got the distinct impression they are busy to the point of having a backlog but can't admit it!
    Will update if/when letter arrives.

Received my Award Notice from DWP in today's post :) and it's roughly £3 a week more than my estimate so all good

  • I am fascinated by the interest in whether you pension will be paid every Wednesday or every Friday - apologies for my ignorance - but what difference does it make which weekday it is?
I am just thinking out loud - nothing I say should be relied upon!
I do however reserve the right to be correct by accident.
  • With one you get it the day BEFORE each Thursday and with the other it's the day AFTER a Thursday
