Buy Dollars in the UK or USA

Hi All,

Going to the US in a couple of weeks and was thinking of getting my money out (about $500). Given the exchange rates etc currently, im not sure whether to get it out in the UK or get it out in the US. (I know it's hard to say because rates rise/falls etc)

If we assume im getting money out right now - would it be better to do it in the UK or in the US?

What's the percentage difference in exchange rates and how many pounds sterling does that impact on your proposed purchase of $500?
