In my third post the office 2007 ebay sale was backed by disk, saying that my disk drive doesn't appear to work, so I thought if its backed by disk, well I thought it was more legit. But i'll read your links re OEM licenses.0 -

Hi
Just a round up... arf arf
The Microsoft Online Applications—Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, Outlook, Sway and Word—are all free and all you need to use them is a Microsoft account.
Apache OpenOffice is an open source office application, and is available for a range of operating systems including Linux, Mac and Windows.
Zoho resembles the new Excel with tabs and a narrow ribbon toolbar containing icons—most of which will be familiar to Excel users. Icons include Sort, Insert Function, a Chart tool and an AutoSum function.
Google Drive includes a spreadsheet component called Google Sheets.
Kingsoft Spreadsheets Free 2013 is totally free spreadsheet software alternative to Microsoft Excel
KOffice offers the three main tools of any office suite: a word processor, a spreadsheet and a presentation application. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
And none of them are 100% compatible with Excel functionality which the OP requires, even the MS Online ones only carry a subset of functions.
If you use Excel to any level beyond basic or low intermediate, especially if using macros etc, you need to be using Excel, not something which is "mostly" compatible. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I bought some licences from scdkey which were really reasonable. However these are for older versions of office. But they do what I need them to do0
