Remove the rubbish bin for the photos and viewings.

Another for declutter and nothing else.

Kitchens are one of the most personal rooms in a house. No matter what you do the buyer will want to change it in some way.

    Declutter and do nothing else.

It looks serviceable and that is what matters in the short term.

A lot of buyers will want to replace it anyway so won't care what it looks like for now as long as everything works.

I wouldn't start painting the doors etc. Almost certainly a waste of time and money and likely to make it look worse rather than better.

That's what we were thinking and we are not diy people really so would take an age!

Most of the stuff can be put away esp all the stuff on the left. Bad angle for the photo too, am sure the estate agents will do a bette job!
Glad to hear most of you don't think it's too bad.

I would de-clutter... remove absolutely everything except the kettle. Don't forget all the stuff on the top of the cupboards - that screams out this kitchen is too small!

Take everything off the 2 shelves on the right hand side and make them shelves for showing off a few nice pieces of crockery or glassware, rather than we use this space as an extra cupboard cos there's not enough storage space in this kitchen!

Then take another photo before deciding whether to paint the cupboards.

Also - when you have estate agent round - take up the door mat. It emphasises the narrowness of the room.

Has anyone suggested ... declutter? I thought not! ;)

Tidy everywhere, even windowsill plant should go. Shine and polish. One bowl of fruit, one bunch of flowers, then give the flowers to your mum.

THAT decluttered. In fact, I'm not sure on the bowl of fruit now....

    I've seen worse.

I wouldn't bother painting the units - a buyer will notice immediately, and will wonder what else you're covering up...

Tidy up, and give it a damn good clean (a shiny sink and gleaming taps speaks volumes). Hide all traces of pets and kids. At bottom left of the picture - are those bins? Relegate them all to the garage, bar one.

Can you do anything about the missing strip of lino next to the units?

It looks quite dark, so have the light on when people are viewing (don't make a show of switching it on, put it on before they arrive and switch it off after they've left).

    Thank you good advice,
They are bins bottom left, and footstools - my little girls obsessions but we shall move them for photos and viewings

They are not missing tiles but they are tiles of a different colour, I have. No idea why.... not a lot we can do sadly
