Both Equifax and Callcredit offer credit report monitoring services that will update you of any changes (including searches) within a few days of them happening.
You can also request statutory reports from all three agencies at any time which will contain the most up to date information these hold on you.


Although considering that you can access the data from all three main credit agencies for free then you shouldn't pay for any of these services.


Also i bet you didn't know that there are actually more than three credit reference agencies in the UK!

Not much help at this stage but I suspect that had you lied and told them that the name on your Barclaycard was the same as on your Halifax card, it would have gone through without a hitch.
