Stationary Car hit by driver parking

Hi

I recently had CCTV installed, due to an incident of vandalism to a vehicle.

Low and behold a week in, I was working at my desk, and I see my car appear to move/shake. Double checking my neighbour has parked their car, and hit mine, hard enough to make it move back and forward.

Next steps, out they get, and into the house. Not a knock, not a check on the car, nothing.

The alarm isn't on, I'm assuming they thought they could just pretend it never happened.

I'll be popping round to mention it, it does look like it's cracked the front number plate, but I can't see anything else.

So fair play to anyone who does hold their hand up, because most people in my experience don't.
Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?

Number plates are a 10er, if you can still read the numbers I wouldn't bother doing anything, but if its damaged the paint then go round there.

Will you? If my number plate had a crack in it I would probably leave it.

hmmmm it is just a number plate, but I would still be angry tbh. I've slightly tapped someone's car an knocked at their door, really worried, but they were fine, no marks showed up. I think if someone just walked off, would get my back up lol.

Its certainly the apparent disregard for any damage, and the rather !!!!!! oblivious nature shown to the CCTV cameras.

Unfortunately I am the kind of person who spends many hours cleaning their car, and takes pride (rightly or wrongly) in making it shine. (and bead like crazy when it rains)

How well do you get on with your neighbours? How well would you like to get on with your neighbours? These are relevant when thinking about whether you want to be £10 out of pocket or not.
I'd keep a copy of the video though, you never know!

    .

Out of interest, do you have any reason to suspect that your neighbour was the original vandal?
Is there any history of dispute over where you park your cars for instance?

No, it was just a bunch of idiots passing. I didn't realise they had damaged the car (wifes) at that time, otherwise I would have at least made a note to check on it.

The neighbour bit is completely unrelated.

I tend to park outside mine, they have space to park outside theirs, but clearly sometimes need buffering space

Instead of taking the time to post here why didn't you just go straight round to the neighbour?
