New technology for/in a workplace in 5 minutes

If they are office based, may not be of use but - Our company is introducing a new telematics system for fleet management. It is essentially designed to monitor vehicle locations so that if an urgent job comes in, the nearest vehicle can be sent there. It is also monitors vehicle speeds (relative to speed limits) and in theory, fuel consumption. In a pilot test, they reckon it reduced fuel consumption by about 20% through better driving technique - the drivers were driving better because they were being monitored. The down side is that drivers may see it as being monitored for disciplinary procedures etc. so there's some need to reassure on the purpose of the tech. I suppose the basic principle is how will new tech improve the business, and what potential pitfalls need addressing. Hope that helps.0

It does thanks as what I started working on is kind of similar in a way - being able to see who is in the office and available at any given time - by department. So kind of extension of Outlook Calendar but web (intranet) based and not limited to immediate coworkers. Still work in progress.0

Hope not to be Jen for those 5 minutes

Latest technology in aviation seems to be the "Electric Airplane". This would need battery charging/replacement though there are plans to load a fresh set of batteries on a pallet similar to luggage loading. The idea that batteries would be on standby ready for aircraft turn-round may get within the 5 minute limit.

Thanks - do not expect much aviation related technology in a standard office though
But so interesting to read about other people's work fields, thanks0 -
Well, due to today's incident in London my interview was cancelled and will be rescheduled in few weeks time.
All those people dead and wounded, so absolutely awful0 -
Well I worked in a technological business.
3 things they liked about an idea.
1. It was uncomplicated and cheap to make or do.
2. Could be easily to implement into the curent company structure.
3. Most of all, can it save or make the company money. The more I live, the more I learn.
The more I learn, the more I grow.
The more I grow, the more I see.
The more I see, the more I know.
The more I know, the more I see,
How little I know.!!0 -

Exactly, I know all that but still - what would make a good topic?
Had everything prepared on the idea I had but now that the interview was postponed (no new date given) - of course thinking if something else would be a better topic.0
